Which Military Branch Is Right For Me?
Picking the right branch to join is extremely important to the quality of your life during your enlistment. Joining a service because you like the uniforms, your parent was in a certain one or (as I did) pick the branch whose door is the first one in the recruiters hallway …is a gamble you don’t need to take.
You cannot know if you are going to do your 4 years and get out or make a career out of it. Unforeseeable events such as injuries, lack of advancement or even getting married and having kids comes into your decision-making process to re-enlist or not. So your best option would be to pick a career that will train you in something you enjoy doing, that way if you decide to get out or an Injury occurs, you can look for civilian employment in a field you have military training in.
Sometimes circumstances will dictate your decisions for you… like age…
